Sidewalk(er)s in Paradise

Sidewalks in ParadiseIf they build it, will anyone come?  That was the question some months ago when I sat in my first visit to a Vestavia Hills City Council meeting hearing the discussion about connecting Highway 31 and Vestavia Hills High School with new sidewalks.  In the past day or two, new concrete was poured across the street from the High School tennis courts, thus completing the linkage promised by our esteemed Council.  Of course you’ve got to be willing to trudge up the incline of Garland to get up to Hwy 31 from the school… but at least now you won’t get run over by a car when your legs give out.

This, of course, begs for a Google Map of the now extensive sidewalk network around the fair city of Vestavia Hills, our own slice of semi-suburban paradise… or maybe I should just get out and become a sidewalk-walker, instead!?!  :^)
