Streaming Thunder on Red Mountain?

This Alabama DOT highway camera faces Red Mountain to its south. The red text is my attempt to help orient you fair reader to the landmarks.

Tonight, THUNDER ON THE MOUNTAIN is scheduled to launch thousands of fireworks over our famous Vulcan statue.

The picture to the right is a simple screen capture of the ALDOT camera #52 located on US 31/280 at 8th Avenue. Click on the link and see the cars go streaming (screaming?) by on the freeway. Perhaps tonight around 9pm bright colored lights will appear in the sky in the upper right corner of this shot?

Sadly, none of the radio stations identified on the Vulcan Park site stream their signal over the Internet, so if you’re in the region you’ll need to tune your FM radio to 87.7 to listen to FOX6 television’s audio simulcast.
